The Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) and P@SHA to Host Historic APICTA Awards in Pakistan

The Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) and Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) have announced that Pakistan will be hosting the APICTA Awards this year for the first time. This milestone event was confirmed during a meeting between the APICTA Executive Committee and delegates from 16 member countries held in Islamabad. The APICTA Awards, often referred to as the “Oscars of IT” in the region, provide a platform to showcase the digital and tech talent of Pakistan and position the country as a hub for technological innovation.

Chairman APICTA, Jit Sing Santok Singh, expressed his optimism about the knowledge and opportunities that hosting the awards will bring to Pakistan. He anticipates a remarkable event that will leave a lasting impact on the IT industry. Chairman P@SHA, Badar Khushnood, highlighted the significance of the APICTA Awards as a catalyst for the transition of Pakistan’s economy from industrial to knowledge-based, emphasizing the right timing to showcase the country’s talent on the global stage.

The APICTA, an association of ICT communities nominated by member countries in the Asia-Pacific region, promotes collaboration and technology innovation. The APICTA Awards program recognizes outstanding indigenous ICT solutions and has played a pivotal role in driving local and regional economic growth. With 16 member economies participating, including Australia, China, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, and more, the APICTA Awards offer valuable business opportunities for qualifying IT companies.

As Pakistan prepares to host the APICTA Awards, it aims to position its strategic case for “Make in Pakistan.” The event will attract around 200 international delegates, including IT leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and researchers. It serves as a platform to foster connections, showcase talent, and inspire future innovation in the technology sector. Entry into the APICTA Awards is through national-level awards programs, with P@SHA being the authorized representative for Pakistani IT enterprises, startups, and students.

The APICTA Awards in Pakistan will be governed by a regulated judging system, ensuring impartiality and transparency. With its debut as the host country, Pakistan is poised to demonstrate its potential as a thriving hub of technological excellence and make a lasting impact on the global tech landscape.
