Pakistan’s leading mobile network operators, including Jazz, Zong, Ufone, and Telenor, have increased the prices of several call and data packages, with some bundles becoming up to 33 percent more expensive over the past year. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has published updated tariff details for the top 15 hybrid and data only bundles offered by the four operators, and the figures, now available on the regulator’s official website, show that annual price increases on certain packages have reached as high as 33 percent.
According to the updated tariff sheets, monthly hybrid call and data packages have increased by as much as Rs 500, while 15 day hybrid bundles have become costlier by up to Rs 300. Weekly hybrid packages have recorded price increases of up to Rs 130, while three day bundles have become more expensive by up to Rs 21, two day packages by up to Rs 20, and one day hybrid packages by up to Rs 5. The pattern shows that price increases have been proportionally steeper on shorter validity packages relative to their base cost, a trend that affects subscribers who rely on frequent smaller top ups rather than monthly plans.
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has enhanced the Consumer Awareness section of its official website as part of its ongoing tariff transparency initiatives, introducing a more user friendly display of tariff trends for the top 15 subscriber wise hybrid and data only bundles offered by the four operators. The updated information includes package wise quarterly prices, annual percentage increases, package validity, and the incentives offered by each operator, giving consumers a clearer basis for comparing costs across providers over time.
The authority said the initiative is intended to help telecom consumers compare available packages and make more informed decisions based on current pricing trends, and it encouraged consumers to regularly check the Consumer Awareness section of its website alongside individual operator websites for updated tariff information. The price increases come as operators continue to face rising operational costs, a dynamic that has pushed them to extract more revenue from data heavy packages even as household budgets remain under broader economic pressure across the country.
