Pakistani IT companies and students have brought home a remarkable 10 awards at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2024, showcasing the country’s growing technological expertise on a global stage. The annual event, held this year in Brunei Darussalam, recognized innovation and excellence in the IT industry across the Asia Pacific region.

In the Banking, Insurance, and Finance category, Cheque Mate by Covalent secured top honors, while Ticket Wala won in the Media & Entertainment category. The Retail & Distribution award was clinched by Adlytic AI, a testament to Pakistan’s prowess in artificial intelligence solutions.

Pakistani students also made the nation proud in the Tertiary Students category. Winners included HemAIDX from the National University of Science & Technology (NUST), Dermopsy from NUST College of EME, and Augmented Reality-Based User Manuals from Air University’s Aerospace & Aviation Campus in Kamra.

Adlytic AI and Augmented Reality-Based User Manuals further elevated Pakistan’s achievements by securing second awards in the Startup of the Year and People’s Choice Award categories, respectively. Additionally, Pakistan’s ALEF won in the Internet of Things (IoT) sub-category, underscoring the country’s innovation in emerging technologies.

APICTA member economies include leading technology hubs such as Australia, China, Singapore, and Japan. Competing alongside these global powerhouses, Pakistan’s consistent recognition at APICTA is a significant achievement.

Sajjad Mustafa Syed, Chairman PASHA said,

“These awards not only bring global recognition to Pakistani IT companies but also open doors to international business opportunities, export orders, and potential investment sources. Such accolades reinforce Pakistan’s position as an emerging technology leader in the Asia Pacific region.”

The annual APICTA Awards are a platform to promote regional collaboration and recognize cutting-edge innovation. This year’s accolades further solidify Pakistan’s status as a competitive player in the global IT landscape, enabling its brands and startups to secure international credibility and expand their operations worldwide.
