The Government of Pakistan has launched a government-funded professional training programme under the Prime Minister’s Skill Tech Pakistan Initiative, offering fresh information technology graduates and working professionals access to internationally recognised certifications in some of the most in-demand technology domains. The initiative is aimed at equipping Pakistani technology talent with globally competitive skills and credentials, with funding levels structured to make the programmes accessible across different career stages.

Fresh information technology graduates who completed their degrees within the last two years are eligible for full, 100 percent government funding under the scheme, removing the financial barrier to professional certification entirely for early-career candidates. Information technology professionals already working in the field can access the same training programmes at 80 percent government funding, significantly reducing the out-of-pocket cost of upskilling. The training covers a broad range of high-demand domains including Cloud Computing through platforms such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, DevOps, Cybersecurity with certifications including Certified Ethical Hacker and Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator, Data Analytics tools including Power Business Intelligence and Tableau, Scrum, Project Management Professional certification, and Artificial Intelligence covering Machine Learning and Deep Learning tracks.

The Skill Tech Pakistan Initiative reflects the government’s recognition that technical certifications from globally recognised bodies play an increasingly important role in determining the employability and earning potential of information technology professionals both domestically and in international markets. By funding access to these programmes, the initiative seeks to bridge the gap between formal academic qualifications and the practical, certifiable skills that employers and clients in the technology sector actively look for. The programme sits within the broader mandate of Tech Destination Pakistan and the Pakistan Software Export Board to develop the country’s technology workforce and support growth in information technology exports. Eligible candidates can apply and register at https://skills.techdestination.com/short-courses/apply.
