Pakistan Single Window Integrates With Nadra PakID App For Remote Verification

Pakistan Single Window (PSW) has integrated with National Database and Registration Authority’s (NADRA) PakID Mobile App, enabling PSW users to complete the mandatory verification process remotely through the app for PSW subscription, subscription renewal, and profile updates. Previously, completing biometric verification required users to physically visit a NADRA e-Sahulat Centre, a step that added friction to the PSW onboarding process, particularly for users based outside major urban centres or abroad. With the PakID integration, users can now complete their biometric verification remotely through their smartphones, subject to applicable NADRA verification requirements, reducing the need for physical visits altogether.

The facility offers particularly significant convenience for overseas Pakistanis engaged in trade-related activities in Pakistan, since eligible overseas users can now complete their PSW biometric verification remotely through the PakID Mobile App rather than needing to coordinate an in-person visit during limited trips back to the country. This integration extends a pattern that has been building across multiple government platforms this year, following NADRA’s rollout of PakID-based remote biometric verification for individual taxpayers, sole proprietors, and overseas Pakistanis through the Federal Board of Revenue, as well as a similar system introduced by the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports for online passport applications. Across these different use cases, the underlying PakID infrastructure NADRA has built over the past year is increasingly functioning as a shared verification layer that other government platforms can plug into rather than building separate biometric systems of their own.

To ensure a smooth transition and uninterrupted facilitation for the business community, both verification channels will remain operational during an interim period, with users able to choose whether to verify their biometrics digitally via the PakID Mobile App or continue visiting NADRA e-Sahulat Centres as before. This dual-channel approach mirrors the transition strategy NADRA and FBR have used for the taxpayer biometric verification rollout, giving users time to adjust to the new remote option without forcing an abrupt shift away from the familiar in-person process. Syed Aftab Haider, CEO of PSW, said the integration reflects the platform’s commitment to listening to the PSW community both in Pakistan and overseas and responding to their needs, describing the change as removing another physical trip from the onboarding process and making the PSW user journey more convenient, accessible, and user-driven.

Integration with the PakID app eliminates what had been the only physical visit required for PSW subscription, making the entire process seamlessly digital for users who choose the remote verification path. The integration reflects PSW’s continued focus on using digital solutions to make its services more accessible, responsive, and convenient, while addressing the practical needs of businesses and Pakistanis engaged in trade from abroad. As PakID continues expanding into new government service integrations, from tax filing to passport applications to now trade facilitation through PSW, the app’s growing role as a central verification tool suggests other platforms may follow a similar path in reducing in-person requirements for services that have historically depended on physical NADRA centre visits.
