SECP reported a significant surge in new company registrations in July 2024, with a total of 2,864 companies incorporated. This represents a 25 percent increase compared to the same period last year and marks the highest number of registrations in a single month.
The information technology sector led the way with the highest number of new company registrations, followed by trading, services, and real estate development. Other sectors witnessing notable growth include tourism, food and beverages, e-commerce, and education.
Foreign investment also saw an uptick, with China being the largest investor. The SECP registered 86 new companies with foreign investment from countries including Afghanistan, Australia, Canada, China, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
The record number of company registrations is a positive indicator of Pakistan’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem and economic activity.
