Pakistan’s telecom sector recorded noticeable changes in cellular market share during June 2026, with the latest official subscriber figures showing a slight shift in the competitive landscape. While Jazz continued to maintain its position as the country’s largest mobile operator, both Zong and Ufone increased their share of the cellular market during the month. At the same time, Jazz and Telenor experienced modest declines, reflecting the ongoing competition among telecom operators as they continue expanding their networks and digital services to attract and retain subscribers.
According to the latest subscriber data, Jazz remained the market leader with a cellular market share of 36.25 percent in June 2026. Although the company recorded a small decline from 36.42 percent in May, it continued to account for more than one third of Pakistan’s total cellular subscriber base. Zong retained its position as the second largest operator and further strengthened its standing by increasing its market share to 26.72 percent, compared with 26.62 percent in the previous month. The latest figures indicate that Zong continues to gradually narrow the gap with the market leader through steady subscriber growth. Ufone also recorded positive movement during the month, increasing its market share from 14.65 percent in May to 14.81 percent in June. The improvement reflects the operator’s continued efforts to expand its digital presence and strengthen its customer base in a highly competitive telecom environment.
In contrast, Telenor experienced a slight decline in subscriber share during June. The operator’s market share fell to 21.17 percent from 21.26 percent recorded in May. While the decrease was relatively small, it highlighted the competitive pressure among Pakistan’s mobile operators as they continue competing for subscribers through service improvements, network expansion, and digital offerings. Meanwhile, SCO maintained a stable performance throughout the month, with its cellular market share remaining unchanged at 1.05 percent. The consistency in SCO’s subscriber base contrasts with the gradual monthly changes recorded by the country’s larger mobile operators.
The latest market share figures demonstrate that Pakistan’s telecom sector continues to evolve as operators compete to strengthen their positions through customer acquisition and improved service delivery. Although the monthly changes were marginal, they reflect the dynamic nature of the mobile industry, where even small shifts in subscriber numbers can influence overall market positioning. The continued gains recorded by Zong and Ufone, alongside the slight declines experienced by Jazz and Telenor, illustrate the competitive environment shaping Pakistan’s cellular market. As telecom companies continue investing in network improvements, digital services, and next generation connectivity, subscriber preferences are expected to remain an important factor influencing future market share trends.
