Pakistan Hockey Federation has launched the National Hockey Portal to identify, register, and develop young hockey players from schools across the country. Introduced with the support of the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination and the Pakistan Sports Board, the nationwide digital platform will connect public and private schools with the federation’s talent identification network.
The portal forms part of Pakistan Hockey Federation’s long term grassroots development program aimed at reviving the country’s national sport and creating a clear pathway for young players to progress from school hockey to the international level. Under the initiative, the federation will provide hockey equipment to 1,000 schools across the country in phases, with registered schools also receiving technical guidance, coaching support, and opportunities to take part in talent identification camps and player development programs.
The program is designed to give talented boys and girls from every province, region, and district equal opportunities to develop their skills and potentially represent Pakistan at the international level. According to federation officials, the technology driven portal will allow the organization to maintain a comprehensive database of emerging players and monitor their progress at different stages of development, replacing what had previously been a more fragmented, manual approach to talent identification.
Pakistan Hockey Federation has urged provincial governments, education departments, school administrations, and private educational institutions to ensure the timely registration of schools on the portal. The federation, along with the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination and the Pakistan Sports Board, said cooperation from all stakeholders would be essential to expand participation, strengthen grassroots hockey, and build a sustainable pipeline of players for the country, reaffirming their commitment to restoring Pakistan’s hockey tradition through a nationwide development system supported by modern technology.
