Pakistan is putting its digital progress on display at GITEX 2025, one of the world’s largest technology exhibitions, currently underway in Dubai. The Pakistan Pavilion, organized by TechDestination and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), features 36 companies, including 26 established IT firms and 10 dynamic startups, reflecting the country’s expanding footprint in global technology and innovation.
This year’s participation follows Pakistan’s strong showing at GITEX 2024, where the country earned the title of “TechDestination of the Year” and achieved business leads worth USD 10.5 million. Building on that success, the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), in collaboration with TDAP, has expanded its pavilion to offer companies greater international exposure and partnership opportunities. Under the theme “Think Tech, Think Pakistan,” the pavilion aims to strengthen the country’s position as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and investment in the global digital ecosystem.
The participating firms are showcasing expertise in software exports, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud services, and other emerging technologies. Pakistani exhibitors are also gaining enhanced branding visibility and access to curated networking zones such as the Connexons Lounge, designed to facilitate direct business-to-business meetings with potential international clients and investors. The initiative represents a unified effort to present Pakistan as a key technology destination capable of offering competitive solutions for global enterprises seeking digital transformation partners.
Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja is leading the official delegation at GITEX 2025. She is scheduled to deliver a keynote address titled “Pakistan’s AI & Connectivity Drive: A Model for Emerging Economies,” highlighting the country’s progress in artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and innovation-led economic growth. Her participation underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s role in the global digital value chain through collaboration, policy support, and investment in emerging technologies.
During the exhibition, the minister is engaging in several bilateral meetings with international technology leaders and government officials to explore new partnerships in AI, cybersecurity, and digital governance. Her engagements include discussions with the UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy, Romania’s Ministry of Economy Advisor, and representatives from the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology. She will also meet with the Secretary of Slovenia’s Ministry of Digital Transformation and witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Pakistan’s National Computer Emergency Response Team (NCERT) and Kaspersky, a global cybersecurity company.
Senior officials accompanying the minister include Faisal Ratyal, CEO of the National Information Technology Board (NITB); Muhammad Abu Bakr, CEO of PSEB; and the Director General of National CERT. Together, they are representing Pakistan’s unified digital ecosystem, one that emphasizes innovation, cybersecurity, and export-driven growth. By highlighting these collaborative efforts on an international stage, Pakistan is reinforcing its identity as a technology-driven nation ready to engage with global partners in shaping the future of digital transformation.
