For the first time, the National Information Technology Board (NITB), operating under the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, is representing Pakistan at GITEX 2025, one of the largest global technology exhibitions. The Board aims to showcase the country’s progress in digital governance and demonstrate how technology is transforming the delivery of public services. The participation signifies Pakistan’s growing emphasis on e-governance and digital transformation as a cornerstone of national development.

During the event, NITB will highlight several flagship government platforms that are driving efficiency, transparency, and accessibility across federal institutions. Among these is the e-Office system, a secure and scalable platform that enables paperless communication and documentation across government departments. The system has been widely implemented to reduce administrative delays, increase accountability, and enhance productivity. Another key platform being featured is the Cabinet Portal, designed to streamline cabinet procedures and decision-making processes through digital workflows.

The NITB showcase will also include PakApp, an integrated platform offering citizens access to a wide range of public services, and digital frameworks for Government-to-Government (G2G) and Government-to-Citizen (G2C) interactions. Additionally, NITB will highlight the One Patient, One ID initiative, which aims to unify patient health records across healthcare institutions through a single digital identity — a step forward in improving the accessibility and management of health data. These initiatives collectively underscore Pakistan’s drive toward a more efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric governance model.

GITEX, held annually in Dubai, attracts over 200,000 visitors and 6,500 exhibitors from across 180 countries, serving as a global hub for showcasing technological advancements. Pakistan’s representation through NITB enhances its visibility in the international tech community and highlights its potential as an emerging digital economy. The country’s IT and IT-enabled services industry already exports to more than 170 markets worldwide, offering up to 70% lower operational costs compared to North America — a compelling advantage for global investors.

Beyond exhibition, GITEX serves as a major networking and collaboration platform for entrepreneurs, corporations, and investors. Pakistan’s participation through NITB opens avenues for strategic partnerships, venture capital inflows, and collaborative innovation in the public sector. The Expand North Star segment, dedicated to startups and innovators, provides further opportunities for showcasing how Pakistan’s digital transformation efforts are aligned with global technology trends and investment priorities. By representing these initiatives, NITB reinforces Pakistan’s position as a nation steadily advancing toward a comprehensive digital ecosystem that benefits citizens, industries, and governance alike.
