Pakistan Digital Authority is hosting a live TownHall event focused on the Internet Computer Protocol Cloud Engine going live in Pakistan, bringing together industry and government leaders to discuss the future of decentralised cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence, Frontier Cloud, and digital transformation at national scale. The event, held on May 10, 2026 at 2:00 pm Pakistan Standard Time, is being streamed live on X Spaces via the official Pakistan Digital Authority account at @digitalauthpk, with registration available at the link shared by the authority.

The TownHall is being hosted by Ahmad Manzoor, Principal Blockchain Engineer at Pakistan Digital Authority, and features two prominent guests. Dr. Sohail Munir, Chairperson of Pakistan Digital Authority, will speak to the broader national vision behind the initiative, while Pierre Samaties, Chief Business Officer of the DFINITY Foundation, the organisation behind the Internet Computer Protocol, will provide perspective on the technology and its global deployment context. The conversation sits at the intersection of sovereign digital infrastructure and next-generation computing, two areas that Pakistan Digital Authority has identified as central to the country’s long-term digital competitiveness.

The Internet Computer Protocol is a decentralised cloud computing network developed by the DFINITY Foundation that enables applications, systems, and services to run directly on a public blockchain infrastructure rather than on traditional centralised cloud platforms. Its activation in Pakistan represents a step toward reducing the country’s dependence on foreign cloud infrastructure providers while building a more resilient and sovereign digital backbone for public and private services. Pakistan Digital Authority noted that this development represents more than technology alone, describing it as a reflection of Pakistan’s broader vision for trusted digital systems, thriving innovation ecosystems, and globally competitive infrastructure for the digital economy. CWPK Legacy
Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995. Initially providing news to IT executives only, once CIO Pakistan, its sister brand from the same family, was launched and took over the enterprise reporting domain in Pakistan, CWPK has emerged as a holistic technology media platform reporting everything tech in the country. It remains the oldest continuous IT publishing brand in the country and in 2025 is set to turn 30 years old, which will be its biggest benchmark and a legacy it hopes to continue for years to come.
