Pakistan Digital Authority has announced the Honourable Advisory Board Members of its Digital Innovation Lab focused on health, assembling a distinguished group of experts spanning healthcare, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, public health policy, and clinical medicine to guide the direction of health innovation in Pakistan. The advisory board brings together Pakistani and internationally based professionals whose collective experience covers the full spectrum of what is required to translate digital health ambitions into scalable, citizen-centric solutions on the ground.
The board includes Captain Retd Zahid Saeed, recipient of the Hilal-i-Imtiaz and Pride of Performance Award; Aamer Ikram, Chairperson of the Year 2024 at Global Health Security; and Taimoor Shah, Chief Operating Officer of Shifa Hospitals. Bilal Hashmat, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CureMD, brings deep experience in health information technology, while Shaukat Ali Khan, Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, is a Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity Leader at the National Health Service in the United Kingdom, giving the board a direct connection to one of the world’s largest public health systems. Clinical expertise is represented through Dr. Asrar Rashid, a Consultant Paediatric Intensivist and AI Genomics Specialist, and Malik Muhammad Safi, a Public Health Expert and former official of the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination. Dr. Shaheen Afridi brings public health systems leadership to the board, while Professor Dr. Mahmood Shaukat contributes expertise in regenerative medicine.
International and institutional perspectives are provided by Dr. Khalid Saeed Bukhari, a World Health Organization Global Health Consultant and Policy Strategist, and Dr. Maryam Mustafa, Director of the National Artificial Intelligence Centre at the Lahore University of Management Sciences, who connects the health innovation agenda to Pakistan’s broader artificial intelligence research ecosystem. Dr. Muqeem Khan, a Traditional Medicine Practitioner and Design Academic, and Dr. Naeem Majeed, a Health Policy and Public Health Specialist, round out a board that Pakistan Digital Authority has described as positioned to shape the future of digital health innovation in the country by fostering collaboration between healthcare, technology, research, and policy to build impactful and scalable solutions for Pakistan’s population.
