Pakistan and China are set to benefit from a faster and more reliable digital connection. The Special Communications Organization (SCO), One Network Private Limited, and Cybernet signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a new high-speed route for China’s growing digital traffic. This route will also improve cross-border connectivity for neighboring countries.
The agreement creates a “digital corridor” that will run from Khunjerab Pass, on the Pakistan-China border, through Rawalpindi to Karachi. This route will leverage the existing infrastructure of all three companies.
This collaboration will bring several benefits including a faster and more reliable connection, increased revenue for Pakistan, and improved regional connectivity. The project is expected to generate foreign exchange for Pakistan as it becomes a key transit point for data traffic. The digital corridor will enhance connectivity between Pakistan, China, Central Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
This agreement marks a significant step towards strengthening Pakistan’s digital infrastructure and fostering regional economic growth.
