Federal Minister Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and National Vocational and Technical Training Commission Chairperson Gulmina Bilal Ahmad represented Pakistan at the World Digital Education Conference 2026 held in China, participating in a global platform focused on the future of digital education, artificial intelligence integration, and skills development for an increasingly technology-driven world. Following the conference, both officials addressed a press briefing in which they outlined the key strategic outcomes of the visit and the direction of the growing partnership between Pakistan and China in the fields of digital education, technical and vocational education and training, and emerging technologies.
Among the major outcomes of the visit were proposals for the establishment of artificial intelligence Innovation Hubs in Pakistan with a strong focus on information technology and artificial intelligence education, alongside discussions on expanding educational and training opportunities for Pakistani students in China, strengthening institutional linkages between Pakistani and Chinese educational bodies, and exploring Pakistan’s potential inclusion in the World Digital Education Alliance. The delegation also held productive engagements with leading Chinese institutions and stakeholders on artificial intelligence, modern education systems, smart learning environments, and future-ready skills development, all aimed at equipping Pakistani youth with the competencies needed for evolving global employment markets.
