Pakistan, in collaboration with Saudi Arabia, has officially launched the GO AI Hub in Islamabad, a major step toward strengthening the country’s artificial intelligence ecosystem, expanding data center infrastructure, and attracting global investment. The initiative aims to position Pakistan as a regional hub for AI innovation, enhance human capital development, and create new opportunities for collaboration with international technology partners.

The establishment of the GO AI Hub follows recent high-level discussions between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) framework. During the Prime Minister’s visit to Riyadh, both nations signed multiple memorandums of understanding focused on data center and AI infrastructure development, as well as the creation of the GO Talent Hub and the GO AI Hub Pakistan. These agreements reflect a shared commitment to advancing digital transformation and fostering sustainable economic partnerships between the two countries.

The GO AI Hub has been developed as a joint initiative between the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), Saudi Arabia’s GO Telecom (Etihad Atheeb Telecommunication Company), and SIFC. The project represents a key component of Pakistan’s broader digital vision, which prioritizes the use of AI and advanced data technologies to modernize industries, improve governance, and drive export growth. The collaboration also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to expand regional technology cooperation and diversify its digital economy through strategic partnerships.

The inauguration ceremony in Islamabad was attended by Federal Minister for IT & Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, CEO GO Telecom Yahya bin Saleh Al-Mansour, senior SIFC officials, and representatives from Pakistan’s technology ecosystem. Speaking at the event, Yahya bin Saleh Al-Mansour reaffirmed GO Telecom’s long-term commitment to supporting Pakistan’s digital transformation journey. He highlighted that the GO AI Hub will serve as a catalyst for innovation by providing an integrated platform for AI research, cloud computing, and secure data management, helping local companies strengthen their digital capabilities and compete on a global scale.

Officials emphasized that the launch of the GO AI Hub marks an important milestone in Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to integrate cutting-edge technologies across sectors. By combining Saudi Arabia’s experience in telecom and infrastructure development with Pakistan’s growing pool of digital talent, the initiative is expected to accelerate technology-driven economic growth. The partnership will also support skill development through the GO Talent Hub, fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and government to prepare Pakistan’s workforce for future AI advancements.
