Pakistan and Hong Kong have expressed a mutual interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, including finance, technology, and tourism. This was highlighted during a recent meeting between Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, the Finance Minister of Pakistan, and the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), the Honorable John K C Lee. The press release issued following the meeting outlined the discussions, which centered around economic collaboration, trade relations, investment opportunities, and cultural exchanges between the two regions.

The dialogue aimed at fostering closer ties between Pakistan and Hong Kong, with both parties keen on exploring avenues for mutual growth and prosperity. Senator Aurangzeb emphasized the shared values and interests between the two regions, expressing Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening and deepening these ties moving forward.

On the other hand, Chief Executive John K C Lee welcomed Minister Aurangzeb’s visit and echoed the sentiment of enhancing collaboration. He highlighted the importance of building strong partnerships to drive economic development, innovation, and cultural exchange, underscoring the mutual benefits such cooperation could bring to both regions.

The meeting, which was attended by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Beijing, H.E. Khaleel Hashmi, and Consul General in Hong Kong, H.E. Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, reflected a shared vision for improving relations and expanding engagement between the two regions. By discussing strategic sectors like finance, technology, and tourism, both leaders demonstrated a commitment to creating new opportunities for economic and cultural growth.

As the relationship between Pakistan and Hong Kong continues to evolve, this meeting marks a significant step towards deepening bilateral cooperation and unlocking potential in areas that could provide substantial long-term benefits for both sides.
