OnePlus has shared fresh insights into its upcoming Turbo smartphone series, confirming the devices will combine flagship-grade performance with record-breaking battery capacities. Li Jie, President of OnePlus China, stated that the Turbo lineup is designed for users seeking a balance between high performance and exceptional endurance. By integrating some of the most powerful hardware OnePlus has produced with larger battery packs, the series aims to appeal to mobile gamers and power users who often face the limitations of daily charging cycles.

The first device in the Turbo lineup is set to surpass the 8,300 mAh battery found in the OnePlus Ace 6T, previously the largest battery in OnePlus’ portfolio. Reports from prominent leakers on Weibo suggest that the new phone will feature a 9,000 mAh battery, making it the brand’s largest yet. This follows the OnePlus 15, which has been recognized as the battery king of 2025, reinforcing expectations that the Turbo series will offer extended usage times even under intensive workloads, including gaming, video streaming, and multitasking.

Beyond its battery, the Turbo series is expected to feature high-performance specifications tailored for gaming. The device is reported to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, the same chipset used in the OnePlus Ace 6T and the internationally available OnePlus 15R. Additional leaks indicate that the series will initially include two models, both equipped with 9,000 mAh batteries, 165Hz refresh rate displays, and high-end Snapdragon 8 series chipsets. These specifications suggest smooth and responsive gaming experiences, even for graphics-intensive titles, while providing ample screen fluidity for competitive mobile gaming and media consumption.

While the initial launch of the Turbo series is scheduled for January in China, OnePlus has not confirmed whether these devices will be introduced globally. If a global release occurs, the series could launch under a different name, which aligns with previous OnePlus strategies for international markets. In comparison to other high-capacity smartphones, the Turbo series’ combination of flagship-level performance and battery longevity positions it as a potential standout among gaming-focused and endurance-oriented smartphones. With high refresh rate displays, substantial battery cells, and powerful internals, OnePlus appears to be targeting users who demand performance without compromise, while also setting a new benchmark for battery endurance within its ecosystem.

Overall, the OnePlus Turbo series underscores the company’s strategy of blending performance, gaming readiness, and extended battery life into a single package. For users who frequently push their smartphones to the limit, these devices could offer a rare combination of speed, efficiency, and staying power. Early indications suggest that the Turbo series may reinforce OnePlus’ presence in both the gaming and high-performance smartphone markets, particularly for those seeking long-lasting devices capable of handling demanding daily usage.
