The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS) at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) is organizing an interactive, hands on workshop on Influence Maximization in Networks Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning. The workshop will be held on November 16, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Interested participants can register through an online registration form, and more information is available on the conference website of the school. The announcement describes the session as interactive and practical, which means that participants are expected to work with the methods during the three hours and not only to listen to a presentation on the subject.
The workshop falls on the day before the Digital Futures and Transformative Technologies Week (DFTTW) 2026, which will be held at NUST in Islamabad on November 17 and 18. DFTTW is organized by NUST in collaboration with Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and is hosted by SEECS. It features two international conferences, the International Conference on Digital Futures and Transformative Technologies (ICoDT2 2026) and the International Conference on Advancement and Innovation in AI and Machine Learning (AI2ML 2026). The conference website lists keynote speeches, paper presentations, panel discussions and workshops among the activities of the week, and the workshop on influence maximization is announced from the same website.
Influence maximization is a problem in network science, in which the aim is to select a small group of nodes in a network so that information, a message or a behavior spreads as widely as possible. Methods based on AI and machine learning are used to find such groups in large networks, and the workshop applies those methods to this problem. The announcement does not list the speakers, the tools that will be used or the level of knowledge that is expected, so participants should check the website of the conference for further details before they register.
The AI2ML 2026 conference covers topics such as generative AI, large language models, computer vision, responsible AI, data science and foundation models, while ICoDT2 covers areas such as the Internet of Things, digital twins, cyber physical systems, 6G networks and quantum communications. The workshop on November 16 adds a practical session on networks and machine learning to the schedule around these conferences. According to the conference website, additional fees may apply for attending workshops, and anyone who wishes to take part in the session on November 16 should register through the form that SEECS has provided.
