The National Information Technology Board (NITB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development to expand citizen centric digital public services under the Digital Economy Enhancement Project (DEEP). The agreement represents another step toward strengthening institutional collaboration aimed at improving digital service delivery for Overseas Pakistanis through the adoption of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). The initiative reflects the government’s continued focus on developing an interoperable and inclusive digital ecosystem that enables secure, accessible, and efficient public services while supporting Pakistan’s broader digital transformation objectives.

The strategic collaboration is intended to strengthen cooperation between the two organizations by identifying and integrating high impact digital services that can improve the overall experience of Overseas Pakistanis. Through the implementation of Digital Public Infrastructure, both organizations aim to develop digital services that are seamless, secure, and easily accessible while improving the efficiency of public sector service delivery. The Digital Economy Enhancement Project serves as the framework for this collaboration, supporting efforts to modernize public services through technology driven solutions. By promoting interoperability between government systems, the initiative seeks to simplify access to essential services while improving coordination among relevant institutions. The agreement also supports the government’s vision of expanding citizen focused digital services that improve accessibility, transparency, and operational efficiency across the public sector.

The MoU was signed in the presence of representatives from both organizations along with officials from Ministry of IT and Telecommunication and other stakeholders supporting Pakistan’s digital transformation agenda. The collaboration brings together expertise from government institutions to identify opportunities for integrating digital platforms and improving service delivery through coordinated efforts. By leveraging Digital Public Infrastructure, the participating organizations intend to establish a stronger digital foundation that enables the development of modern public services while supporting the needs of Overseas Pakistanis. The agreement also reflects continued efforts to encourage cooperation between government entities in implementing technology initiatives that improve accessibility and strengthen the country’s digital governance framework. Officials emphasized that collaboration among institutions remains essential for delivering efficient and secure digital services that meet the evolving requirements of citizens.

The partnership further demonstrates the commitment of the participating organizations to advancing an inclusive and citizen centric digital ecosystem through the Digital Economy Enhancement Project. By working together, NITB and Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development aim to accelerate the adoption of digital public services that improve convenience, strengthen institutional coordination, and enhance the digital experience for citizens living abroad. The collaboration also supports wider national objectives related to digital transformation by encouraging the use of modern technology to improve public sector operations and service delivery. Through continued institutional cooperation and the implementation of Digital Public Infrastructure, the initiative is expected to contribute to the development of a more connected and efficient digital environment that supports secure, accessible, and integrated public services across Pakistan.
