The National Database and Registration Authority has introduced a significant update to its Pak-ID mobile application, aimed at improving user experience and expanding the digital capabilities of identity-related services. The latest version of the app includes several new features such as real-time tracking of ID applications, facial biometric verification at the beginning of the application process, and a redesigned user interface to enhance accessibility and ease of use.

In an effort to make digital public services more efficient, NADRA has also enabled users to view family member records without requiring biometric verification. Another key upgrade is the ability to book appointments directly at NADRA service centers through the app, removing the need for phone calls or in-person scheduling. These additions are intended to minimize the number of physical visits to NADRA offices, saving time for both citizens and the authority.

The new features build on earlier efforts by NADRA to transition towards a more digitally connected ecosystem. One of the most impactful functions previously added to the Pak-ID app is the integration of online fee payments. This system allows both local and overseas Pakistanis to pay for identity services such as the Smart National Identity Card, Child Registration Certificate, and Family Registration Certificate through a secure digital payment channel. The fee submission process is fully integrated into the app, streamlining what was once a manual and time-consuming task.

The enhanced Pak-ID app reflects NADRA’s ongoing push to simplify access to national identity services by offering a comprehensive set of tools in one mobile platform. Whether it’s tracking the progress of an application, authenticating identity through biometrics, viewing family records, or scheduling a visit to a nearby NADRA center, users now have the ability to manage their ID needs without stepping out of their homes. These improvements cater to both urban and remote users, providing convenience and operational efficiency through a single interface.

The app is currently available for download on Android and iOS platforms and NADRA has encouraged all users to update to the latest version in order to benefit from the newly introduced functionalities. The authority stated that the initiative is part of a larger commitment to making citizen services more streamlined, transparent, and accessible through technology.

By embedding digital identity processes into mobile platforms, NADRA is working toward aligning national infrastructure with global e-governance standards. The updated Pak-ID app represents a step forward in delivering user-centric services and broadening the digital transformation of essential public functions.
