Stay home, stay safe has now become the slogan of the corona during its outbreak all over the world. Most of the countries are in lockdown where China is the first to recover. Based in Singapore a Pakistani duo has developed a global coronavirus tracker for the public so they can know the latest figures on the spread of the pandemic.
Two freelancers Hafsa Usmani and Rida Shoaib brains are behind the trackers. As they were discussing the spread of the virus, it was still left to reach the world. They needed to find the authentic platform to know the exact numbers of affected people for which the developed a tracker as in times like this information resources also become a problem.
Hafsa developed design, code and technical stuff in the tracker who is FAST-NU graduate, completed her masters in computer sciences, while on the other side Rida worked on research and data source. She completed her MBA from the Lahore School of Economics.
COVID-19 Tracker uses the Johns Hopkins data resource and is updated daily. It provides updated statistics on pandemic over 160 countries in a hundred different languages. It has a key feature to provide information as per the area. Additionally, given the fact that this COVID-19 tracker is multi-lingual, it covers all major languages spoken around the globe. This makes it a worthy resource for a very wide audience.
Considering the situation it is the responsibility of people to make sure they are getting the correct information through proper sources as a little ignorance can create further problems for the system. Spreading information without verifying amid this crisis borders on criminal as this only adds to the already panic situation and anxiety that the majority are suffering from.
