Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET), Jamshoro has entered into a significant academic collaboration with United Energy Pakistan (UEP) through the signing of a Need-cum-Merit Scholarship Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to provide financial assistance to talented and deserving students from districts where UEP has active operations. The initiative underscores a shared vision to bridge financial gaps for students who aspire to pursue higher education but face challenges due to limited resources.

The MoU was formally signed by Prof. Dr. Tauha Hussain Ali, Vice Chancellor of MUET, and Mr. Tameezuddin Latif, Head of C&EA, Land & Aviation at UEP. Both institutions emphasized the importance of supporting education as a driver of social and economic progress in Pakistan. By targeting students from UEP’s operational districts, the scholarship program not only ensures inclusivity but also strengthens community engagement, giving local youth the means to achieve their academic goals and contribute meaningfully to society.

Through this partnership, MUET and UEP aim to create an ecosystem where education becomes accessible to students who demonstrate both merit and financial need. The scholarships will cover academic expenses for selected candidates, enabling them to focus on their studies without the burden of financial stress. This collaboration highlights how academia and industry can work together to uplift communities, especially in areas where energy companies operate and have a direct impact. For MUET, this initiative reflects its commitment to nurturing future engineers and professionals who can lead in various fields of science and technology, while UEP’s contribution reaffirms its corporate social responsibility toward empowering youth and fostering long-term development.

The scholarship program is expected to leave a lasting impact on students by opening doors to opportunities that might otherwise have remained out of reach. By facilitating higher education, MUET and UEP are laying the foundation for a stronger, knowledge-driven society that aligns with Pakistan’s broader goals of progress and development. The partnership stands as a meaningful step in building sustainable academic pathways for the next generation of innovators and leaders.
