Motorola has officially unveiled the Signature 27, a new flagship smartphone introduced during Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii. The device follows the Motorola Signature launched earlier in 2026 and arrives with Qualcomm’s newly announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 mobile platform. Motorola has positioned the Signature 27 around high-end performance, artificial intelligence, photography, connectivity and a slim premium design. The company has also introduced a larger cooling system to manage the additional heat generated by the new processor. While Motorola has confirmed much of the phone’s hardware and design, it has not yet announced the final price or exact release date. The company says the Signature 27 is expected to reach global markets before the end of 2026.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is at the center of the Signature 27’s performance upgrades, bringing on-device Artificial Intelligence capabilities, enhanced camera processing, gaming performance and connectivity improvements. Motorola has also equipped the phone with a six-antenna design that the company says can double download speeds while supporting faster cloud-based Artificial Intelligence applications. Keeping the powerful hardware inside a slim body has led Motorola to expand its ArcticMesh cooling system by 40 percent compared with its predecessor. The system combines diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, copper mesh and a redesigned 3D vapour chamber to manage heat during demanding workloads. The phone will also receive seven years of software updates, matching the long-term update commitments offered by several other major premium smartphone manufacturers.
Artificial Intelligence is also integrated into the phone’s multimedia features. Motorola says the Signature 27 will be able to transform prompts, photographs and video footage into polished videos through Gemini Omni, while Gemini Lyria can be used to create original music and custom soundtracks. For photography, the phone features a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 910 main sensor alongside a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. Video recording is supported by Motorola’s Video Enhancement Engine, which is designed to analyse scenes and automatically adjust colour tones during recording. The system is intended to improve video results in situations such as low light, while Qualcomm’s image stabilisation works with the phone’s 3.5-degree optical image stabilisation hardware. These camera features give the Signature 27 a considerably different imaging setup from the original Signature.
Motorola has also highlighted the Signature 27’s design and audio features. The phone uses an aluminium body with contoured edges, while its camera module stretches across the width of the rear panel and combines ceramic and brushed aluminium finishes. Two Pantone-approved finishes have been announced: Capulet Olive and Coal Smoke in Tactical Weave. Motorola has additionally partnered with premium audio company Bang & Olufsen for the device’s audio experience, although specific details about the speakers and audio tuning have not yet been disclosed. Motorola has not announced the Signature 27’s final price or exact launch date, but expects the phone to become available in global markets before the end of 2026. The original Motorola Signature launched at £899, although the company has not confirmed whether the new model will follow a similar price point.
