Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja met with popular content creator Junaid Akram to discuss strategies for enhancing digital skills among Pakistan’s youth and promoting the country’s expanding creator economy. The meeting focused on identifying opportunities for collaboration between government-led initiatives and the content creator community to empower individuals through technology, creativity, and digital literacy.

During the discussion, Shaza Fatima emphasized the government’s ongoing efforts to equip young people with the necessary tools to thrive in the digital landscape. She highlighted that initiatives under the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication (MOITT) are aimed at fostering innovation, improving access to digital education, and supporting local creators who contribute to Pakistan’s online economy. The minister reaffirmed that building a strong digital workforce is a key part of the government’s vision for a sustainable and inclusive Digital Pakistan, where talent and creativity can drive both social and economic growth.

Junaid Akram appreciated the ministry’s focus on supporting digital creators and acknowledged the importance of bridging the gap between policymakers and the creative industry. He discussed the potential for structured programs that encourage young people to pursue careers in digital content creation, while also raising awareness about responsible and ethical use of online platforms. The meeting explored possibilities for workshops, mentorship opportunities, and partnerships that could help expand the reach of digital education and empower creators across diverse fields.

Both parties agreed that the creator economy holds significant promise for Pakistan’s future, offering new income streams, employment opportunities, and global exposure for local talent. Strengthening this sector requires continuous investment in skill development, infrastructure, and public-private collaboration to ensure that Pakistan remains competitive in the evolving global digital space.

Through such initiatives, MOITT continues to demonstrate its commitment to building an inclusive digital environment that encourages entrepreneurship, creativity, and technological growth. The meeting between Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Junaid Akram reflects a shared understanding of how strategic collaboration can shape the future of Pakistan’s digital economy, empowering its citizens to participate confidently in the global digital ecosystem.
