Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has announced plans to host a National Artificial Intelligence Conference in early 2026, aiming to strengthen Pakistan’s AI ecosystem and promote the adoption of emerging technologies across key sectors. According to officials, the event is expected to convene local and international startups, technology companies, researchers, policymakers, and industry experts. The conference will provide a platform for knowledge sharing, industry dialogue, and policy-level discussions on artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, and related fields. Officials emphasized that the initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to integrate AI into economic and social development programs.

The National AI Conference will focus on the role of artificial intelligence in driving economic growth, enabling digital transformation, and enhancing public service delivery. Key sessions are expected to explore AI applications in healthcare, education, agriculture, fintech, e-governance, and cybersecurity. In addition to technical discussions, planners have scheduled sessions on the ethical and responsible use of AI, data governance, and regulatory considerations, reflecting the government’s aim to ensure AI adoption is aligned with global standards and local requirements. By addressing governance alongside innovation, the event seeks to balance rapid technological adoption with accountability and transparency.

Startups and emerging technology firms are expected to find significant opportunities at the conference. Participants will be able to showcase AI-based products, research, and solutions while engaging with investors and industry leaders to explore potential collaborations and funding avenues. Officials noted that the conference will also highlight challenges faced by local startups, particularly in scaling AI solutions, accessing global markets, and navigating the regulatory and infrastructure landscape. By bringing together stakeholders from government, industry, and academia, the event aims to create a supportive ecosystem for AI-driven innovation and entrepreneurship in Pakistan.

The MoITT emphasized that the National AI Conference aligns with the government’s wider digital policy framework, which focuses on innovation, development of skilled human resources, and the responsible adoption of AI. The ministry highlighted that the conference is part of ongoing efforts to position Pakistan as a credible destination for emerging technologies, while also promoting knowledge transfer, collaboration, and industry partnerships. Officials confirmed that additional details regarding the conference’s dates, venue, and participation guidelines will be shared closer to the event. Through such initiatives, MoITT aims to further strengthen Pakistan’s digital infrastructure, enhance capacity in artificial intelligence, and foster a culture of innovation across multiple sectors.
