Mobilink Bank, a leading digital microfinance bank, has partnered with Arid Agriculture University (AAUR) to launch Pakistan’s first “Center of Excellence for Women.” This initiative aims to empower women farmers by providing financial literacy training, skills development, and access to financial services.

The Center will serve the rural villages in the Potohar region, a key agricultural area in Pakistan. Women constitute a significant portion (45%) of the agricultural workforce, yet face challenges in accessing financial resources and technology.

Through this partnership, Mobilink Bank, as the exclusive financial partner for AAUR’s outreach program, will offer customized financial solutions and bridge the gender gap in financial inclusion. This aligns with the bank’s existing WIN (Women Inspirational Network) program focused on empowering women entrepreneurs.

“We are deeply committed to supporting the agricultural sector and the women who are its backbone,” stated Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, Chief Operating Officer of Mobilink Bank. “This Center will equip women farmers with crucial digital and financial tools for success.”

Dr. Gulshan Irshad, from AAUR, emphasized the importance of joint efforts. “Our outreach programs combined with Mobilink Bank’s financial expertise will empower communities and create valuable connections.”

The Center represents a significant step towards financial inclusion for women in Pakistan’s agricultural sector. Mobilink Bank seeks to expand this initiative and foster similar partnerships to bridge the digital and financial divide for women.
