Mobile internet services remained suspended across several parts of Balochistan for the fifth consecutive day as provincial authorities continued precautionary measures following last week’s coordinated security incidents in the province. Train services from Quetta to other parts of the country also remain halted, adding to disruptions in daily life and connectivity across the region.

Additional Chief Secretary Hamza Shafqaat stated that the decision to suspend mobile internet was taken in view of the deteriorating law and order situation. He added that conditions were gradually stabilising and authorities had decided to restore mobile internet services from 12am midnight. Despite this announcement, mobile data services continued to remain unavailable in areas including Nushki and Sibi, while services in Mastung were briefly restored before being halted again. Residents in Kalat, Khuzdar, Awaran, Panjgur and Turbat have experienced intermittent disruptions over recent days due to earlier security concerns.

Pakistan Railways officials confirmed that train operations from Quetta remain suspended until further notice. Muhammad Kashif, spokesperson for the Quetta division, said services would resume once security clearance is received. He noted that the Jaffar Express operating between Quetta and Peshawar and the Bolan Mail connecting Quetta with Karachi would be restored after approval from relevant authorities.

Security forces have continued clearance operations in Nushki district and surrounding areas following the coordinated incidents. Officials confirmed that operations are ongoing in the mountainous regions, although the town of Nushki has been cleared and local bazaars reopened after three days. Several government buildings had been damaged during the unrest, including a police station, judicial complex, police lines, Deputy Commissioner office and a Federal Constabulary camp. Authorities stated that stability is returning gradually, with precautionary measures remaining in place until the situation fully normalises.
