Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has announced plans to organise a national level Artificial Intelligence conference in early 2026 as part of efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s growing AI ecosystem and encourage wider adoption of emerging technologies. Officials said the initiative is designed to create a central platform where innovation, policy discussion, and industry collaboration can converge, reflecting the government’s increasing focus on artificial intelligence as a driver of digital and economic development.

According to the ministry, the conference will bring together a broad mix of stakeholders including local and international startups, established technology companies, academic researchers, policymakers, and industry experts. The objective is to facilitate in depth discussions on recent developments in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, and related technologies, while also supporting structured dialogue on policy frameworks that can help guide responsible and scalable AI adoption in Pakistan. Officials noted that such engagement is essential to bridge gaps between innovation, regulation, and commercial deployment, particularly as AI applications become more embedded across sectors.

The event is expected to place strong emphasis on how artificial intelligence can support economic growth, digital transformation, and improved public service delivery. Planned sessions are likely to explore the use of AI in healthcare, education, agriculture, fintech, e governance, and cybersecurity, sectors where technology driven efficiencies could have a measurable impact. Alongside practical use cases, discussions on ethical AI, data governance, and responsible innovation are also expected to form a key part of the agenda. Officials said these themes are increasingly important as AI systems scale and begin to influence decision making processes in both public and private domains.

Startups and technology companies will be provided opportunities to showcase AI based products, platforms, and research during the conference. The exhibition and demonstration components are intended to give innovators visibility among policymakers, investors, and enterprise leaders. Officials added that investors and industry executives are expected to explore collaboration and funding opportunities, particularly for early stage ventures working on AI driven solutions tailored to local and regional challenges. At the same time, the platform is expected to highlight the constraints faced by Pakistani startups, including difficulties in scaling AI solutions, limited access to high quality datasets, skills gaps, and barriers to entering global markets.

The ministry stated that the planned conference aligns closely with the government’s broader digital policy framework, which focuses on promoting innovation, developing skilled human resources, and encouraging the responsible use of advanced technologies. Artificial intelligence is increasingly viewed as a cross cutting enabler that can support productivity, competitiveness, and service delivery when supported by the right regulatory and institutional structures. Officials emphasized that bringing diverse stakeholders together in a structured forum will help identify policy priorities, investment needs, and capacity building requirements needed to support sustainable growth of the AI sector.

Further details regarding the conference, including exact dates, venue, registration process, and participation guidelines, will be shared closer to the event. Ministry officials indicated that preparations are already under way to ensure broad representation from across the technology ecosystem, academia, and government institutions. As Pakistan continues to expand its digital ambitions, the proposed national AI conference is expected to serve as a focal point for aligning innovation efforts with policy direction and long term development goals within the country’s evolving technology landscape.
