The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication Pakistan has shared a curated selection of six free artificial intelligence courses aimed at professionals, students, and enthusiasts who are looking to build or strengthen their skills in one of the most in-demand areas of the global technology industry. The list, shared under the Digital Nation Pakistan initiative, spans a range of skill levels and specialisations, from foundational artificial intelligence literacy to advanced deep learning and prompt engineering, and draws on offerings from some of the world’s most recognised institutions and technology companies including Google, Harvard University, Microsoft, OpenAI, Vanderbilt University, and the University of California Davis. The ministry’s message accompanying the list was direct: whether someone is an artificial intelligence enthusiast or just starting out, these courses are available to enrol in right away at no cost, removing the financial barrier that often prevents individuals from accessing high-quality technology education.
The six courses cover meaningfully distinct areas of artificial intelligence practice and are suited to learners at different stages of their journey. The Google Artificial Intelligence Learning Path, part of the Google Artificial Intelligence Essentials programme, runs between 15 and 20 hours and focuses on artificial intelligence fundamentals delivered through hands-on projects, making it a practical entry point for those new to the field. Vanderbilt University’s Prompt Engineering Masterclass is a more intensive 70-hour offering covering advanced prompting techniques, a skill set that has become increasingly valuable as large language models are integrated into professional workflows across industries. The OpenAI Developer Prompting Course, at three to four hours, is a shorter and more focused resource specifically designed for developers looking to use artificial intelligence models more effectively in their applications and products. Microsoft’s Deep Learning Journey, spanning eight to ten hours, is aimed at those who want to master neural networks and their applications, providing a technical grounding in one of the core methodologies underpinning modern artificial intelligence systems.
Rounding out the list are two broader and more specialised offerings. The University of California Davis Big Data Specialisation in Artificial Intelligence Product Management, which runs for 25 hours, focuses on artificial intelligence tools for product strategy, equipping professionals in product management, business, and strategy roles with the knowledge to make informed decisions about artificial intelligence integration in their organisations. Harvard University’s Artificial Intelligence with Python course, the longest on the list at 70 hours, offers a comprehensive and technically rigorous curriculum covering artificial intelligence concepts and implementation using the Python programming language, one of the most widely used tools in the field. By amplifying access to these courses, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication is reinforcing Pakistan’s broader ambition to develop a digitally literate and technically capable workforce that can participate meaningfully in the global artificial intelligence economy, an ambition that has taken on added urgency following the country’s recent 5G spectrum auction and a series of policy commitments to accelerate the growth of Pakistan’s technology sector.
