ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – The National Information Technology Board has issued a malware warning to Android users, telling them not to download the Flixonline software, which looks like Netflix.
“Do not instal the Netflix software Flixonline since it instals a malicious file on your device. Never utilise an APP or APK that you don’t know about. The board tweeted, “Stay aware & safe!”
It went on to say that on the Google Play Store, a wormable Android malware has been discovered that can spread automatically by replying to a victim’s incoming WhatsApp message with a malicious file.
The IT Board ruled that users should not download FlixOnline and should uninstall it if it is already installed.
As of the fourth quarter of 2020, Netflix had 203.67 million paid subscribers globally.
