Malala and Tim Cook have emphasized the need for free education and a long-term goal of further woman empowerment which also included reducing the gender gap in the UK and USA. Apple’s expertise in education, which stems from Steve Jobs belief, works hand in hand with Malala’s vision. Malala believes in providing education for over 130 million girls who are not yet in school. In an effort to double their local advocates, who are termed as Gulmakai Champions, they all use technology to provide education to children and they believe that further involvement from the government can improve this initiative. Malala highlighted that this initiative has been successful as the Champions in Nigeria have convinced the government to provide 12 years of compulsory education for all children which was previously limited to 9 years.
