LUMS Energy Institute (LEI), in collaboration with Pakistan’s National Productivity Organization (NPO) and the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), Japan, will host the International Conference on Green Productivity 2.0 (GP 2.0) from November 28–29, 2025, in Lahore. The two-day conference is expected to bring together over 80 delegates from APO member economies across Asia and the Pacific, alongside senior experts and stakeholders from Pakistan’s public and private sectors. Representatives from 21 countries including Italy, Japan, Thailand, China, and Pakistan will share experiences and insights on sustainable development, circular economy innovations, and productivity-led green transformation, reflecting a regional commitment to environmentally responsible industrial growth.
Senior officials from multiple ministries including Industries and Production, Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Energy (Power Division), Petroleum, and Climate Change and Environmental Coordination will participate, signalling the Government of Pakistan’s support for the national Green Productivity 2.0 Vision. The event will emphasize the value of academia–industry partnerships in fostering innovation, strengthening regional networks, and supporting sustainable industrial practices. Participants will engage in thematic sessions focusing on topics such as green hydrogen for industrial decarbonization, resource efficiency, ESG-aligned productivity frameworks, and the role of financial institutions in promoting sustainable growth. These discussions aim to generate actionable strategies to advance collaboration across the region in green productivity initiatives.
LEI, recognized internationally for its research and policy work in sustainable energy and industrial transformation, will present its ongoing projects and contributions at the conference. The forum will also highlight Pakistan’s initiatives to expand renewable energy integration, adopt clean technologies, and enhance productivity through innovation-driven approaches. Dr. Fiaz Chaudhry, Senior Advisor at LEI, and Alamgir Chaudhry, CEO NPO, who are organizing the conference, noted that the event will serve as a platform to advance clean technologies, renewable energy deployment, and sustainable industrial innovation while fostering regional cooperation and knowledge exchange.
The conference will provide an opportunity for stakeholders from government, academia, industry, and development partners to collaborate on building a shared roadmap for low-carbon growth and sustainable productivity. By connecting regional experts and national policymakers, the International Conference on Green Productivity 2.0 aims to reinforce networks, deepen understanding of effective productivity practices, and support a coordinated approach to innovation-led industrial development. The discussions and insights generated at this event are expected to influence future strategies for promoting green technology, sustainable industrial operations, and regional economic integration.
