Their commitment reflects a shared belief in education’s power to transform societies through research-driven progress.
Expressing his thoughts on joining LUMS, Husain stated, “LUMS is one of Pakistan’s premier institutions of learning. And after decades of hard work by Pakistani researchers, entrepreneurs and students, Pakistan’s time on the global stage has arrived. It is a great honor to be part of the team that will steward LUMS into a future that is brimming with possibility and success for Pakistan, for its partners and for the world.” His words reflect both optimism and a commitment to helping Pakistan’s higher education institutions achieve global relevance.
Throughout his entrepreneurial journey, Husain has founded and led multiple ventures that have pushed the boundaries of AI and advanced systems. He also co-founded SkyGrid, a joint venture with Boeing focused on autonomous aviation, and established SparkCognition Government Systems (SGS), chaired by former U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Robert Work. Currently, he serves as Chairman of WorldQuant Foundry, which supports startups leveraging exponential technologies to address global challenges.
