In a bid to enhance public convenience, Lahore Traffic Police has expanded its online services, allowing citizens to renew their learner’s permits from the comfort of their homes. The announcement, shared on Lahore Traffic Police’s official social media account, highlights upcoming online facilities for services such as license renewal, duplicate issuance, and international licenses.
The initiative aims to reduce congestion at Facilitation Centers by an estimated 90%, streamlining processes and providing a more accessible avenue for the public. Earlier this month, the caretaker Punjab government also introduced online facilities for obtaining a driving learner’s license, accessible through the Punjab Police app and available at 737 police stations and all Khidmat Marakiz across Punjab, as stated by caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi.
For those looking to apply online for a learner’s license, the process involves creating an account on the DLIMS licensing website, filling out the application form, uploading necessary documents, and completing the payment through ATM, online banking, or mobile banking channels. Required documents include the applicant’s picture, scanned copies of the original CNIC’s front and back, and a medical certificate signed by a government doctor for individuals above 50 years of age. The move signifies a progressive shift towards digitizing essential services for the convenience of the public.
