The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board has received the ASOCIO Digital Government Award 2026 at a ceremony held in Jakarta, Indonesia, earning one of the Asia-Pacific region’s most recognised honours in the field of information technology for its efforts to leverage technology for improved governance and citizen-centric public service delivery. The award was conferred by the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization, which presents the recognition to organisations demonstrating excellence and innovation in digital government services across the region.

The international recognition reflects Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s ongoing digital transformation being pursued under the Chief Minister’s Good Governance Roadmap and Digital KP Vision 2030, a framework centred on delivering more digital, integrated, transparent, and accessible public services to citizens across the province. The ASOCIO award places Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the company of regional leaders in government digitisation, affirming that the province’s approach to technology-enabled public administration has reached a standard worthy of international acknowledgement from Asia’s foremost information technology industry body.

The achievement was described in the official statement as a testament to the collective efforts of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, KPITB, and all stakeholders contributing to the Digital KP initiative, recognising that the transformation has involved a broad ecosystem of public servants, technology professionals, and implementation partners working across the province’s districts and departments. The award also arrives as KPITB continues expanding its digital services portfolio, with ongoing initiatives covering e-governance platforms, citizen facilitation systems, and digital skills development programmes embedded within the wider Digital KP Vision 2030 framework.

For Pakistan more broadly, the recognition of a provincial digital government body at an ASOCIO level sends a meaningful signal that sub-national technology governance bodies in the country are operating at standards that command regional respect, and that the investments being made in provincial digital infrastructure and service delivery innovation are generating outcomes that extend beyond domestic impact into international recognition.
