KE in collaboration with INNOVentures Global (Pvt) Ltd and IGNITE, has launched an initiative aimed at transforming Pakistan’s power sector by inviting startups and entrepreneurs to participate in the EPIC Challenge. The initiative provides a unique opportunity for innovators to tackle real-world energy challenges, offering solutions that can revolutionize energy efficiency, sustainability, and smart grid solutions. In an effort to engage and educate potential participants, KE and its partners organized a dedicated webinar titled “Energy Progression and Innovation,” on March 26 at 3 PM PKST. This session served as a platform for startups to interact with KE officials and challenge managers, understand the scope of the EPIC Challenge, and explore the benefits of participation.

The EPIC Challenge is designed to encourage entrepreneurs and startups to propose innovative solutions that address KE’s critical problem statements. Participants can also suggest breakthrough ideas that have the potential to reshape Pakistan’s energy landscape. Through this initiative, KE aims to foster collaboration between industry experts and innovators, paving the way for a more efficient and technologically advanced power sector. The challenge not only provides startups with the opportunity to test and develop their solutions but also offers mentorship from industry leaders who can help refine and scale their innovations. Startups selected through this program will gain access to KE’s vast resources and expertise, enabling them to implement and validate their ideas in real-world settings.

One of the most attractive aspects of the EPIC Challenge is its potential to unlock funding opportunities for participating startups. By demonstrating viable and scalable solutions, entrepreneurs have the chance to secure investment and long-term partnerships, allowing them to expand their impact and reach within the energy sector. This initiative aligns with KE’s broader vision of integrating sustainable and intelligent energy solutions that benefit both businesses and consumers. In addition to addressing operational challenges, the challenge also focuses on driving long-term sustainability by promoting clean energy, efficiency, and grid modernization.

The upcoming webinar will act as a crucial stepping stone for interested participants. It will provide an in-depth look into the challenge, answering key questions regarding expectations, criteria, and potential rewards. This session will also facilitate direct engagement with KE professionals, allowing startups to gain insights into the company’s operational needs and technological aspirations. Entrepreneurs will have the chance to explore ways in which their solutions can align with KE’s ongoing initiatives, maximizing their chances of success in the challenge.

Startups and entrepreneurs interested in being part of this game-changing initiative must register for the EPIC Challenge before April 11, 2025. Registration is now open at www.innovation.ke.com, where applicants can find additional details regarding the program. Prior to that, interested participants are encouraged to sign up for the webinar at https://bit.ly/KE-EPIC-Challenge to get an overview of the challenge and prepare for submission.

With Pakistan’s energy sector facing increasing demand for innovation and efficiency, initiatives like the EPIC Challenge provide a crucial platform for startups to contribute to the country’s sustainable energy future. By fostering collaboration between industry stakeholders and emerging innovators, KE and its partners are positioning Pakistan at the forefront of energy transformation, ensuring that technological advancements lead to meaningful progress. The EPIC Challenge is not just a competition—it is an opportunity for change-makers to redefine the future of energy in Pakistan.
