Kazim Mujtaba, President of the Consumer Division at Jazz, has been honored with the esteemed Pride of LUMS Award, a prestigious recognition bestowed by the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). This award acknowledges Kazim’s exceptional contributions to Pakistan’s telecommunications industry, as well as his steadfast commitment to innovation, leadership, and inclusivity throughout his career.

A proud alumnus of LUMS, Kazim graduated from the institution’s MBA Class of 1998, and his remarkable career trajectory since then has earned him a reputation as a trailblazer in the tech and telecom sectors. With more than 20 years of experience in leading roles across the Middle East and Africa, Kazim has played an integral role in shaping the digital landscape of Pakistan. Since joining Jazz in 2016, he has held a series of influential positions, including Vice President of Marketing and Vice President of Data Analytics. Today, as the head of the Consumer Division, Kazim oversees a significant $1 billion portfolio, driving growth and launching transformative digital services that have revolutionized the telecommunications sector in Pakistan.

Kazim’s leadership and impact extend far beyond corporate growth and profitability. One of his key initiatives has been to close the digital gender gap. He has led efforts to create women-centric products and services that not only address the unique needs of female consumers but also promote digital literacy among underserved communities. Through these initiatives, Kazim has ensured that Jazz remains a pioneer in fostering inclusivity and empowering women to participate in and benefit from the digital economy.

In addition to his achievements within Jazz, Kazim has been a staunch advocate of bridging the gap between academia and industry. His partnership with LUMS has facilitated numerous programs designed to nurture the next generation of leaders. Through initiatives like Jazz Empower and the Jazz Internship Program, Kazim has opened doors for students to gain practical, real-world experience while developing leadership skills. His efforts have contributed to addressing the challenges of workplace inclusivity, and his mentorship continues to guide young professionals as they step into their careers.

Upon receiving the Pride of LUMS Award, Kazim expressed his gratitude and shared his thoughts on the significance of the recognition.

“LUMS has always been more than an institution to me—it has been a foundation of my values, a source of lifelong inspiration, and a reminder of the importance of giving back, this recognition is a testament to the power of innovation and inclusivity in transforming lives. I am deeply humbled and motivated to continue this journey of creating equitable opportunities for all.”

Kazim’s recognition as a Pride of LUMS recipient underscores his unwavering dedication to creating a more inclusive, innovative, and connected future for Pakistan. His career and leadership serve as an inspiration to aspiring professionals, particularly in the fields of technology and telecommunications. His work emphasizes the importance of fostering innovation and collaboration to drive sustainable progress and create opportunities for all, regardless of gender, background, or economic status.

The Pride of LUMS Award not only celebrates Kazim’s professional achievements but also highlights the profound impact of leadership that values inclusivity and the betterment of society. As he continues to drive innovation at Jazz, Kazim’s legacy will likely inspire many more leaders who seek to make a meaningful difference in their industries and communities.
