Jazz Up Your Society: Ten Telecentres Tied in with USF

Ministry of IT and Telecom joined a contract with jazz through USF for the establishment of ten telecenters across different parts of the country. Mr. Harris Chaudhry the CEO of USF and Mr. Aamir Ibrahim CEO of Jazz jointly signed the agreement for the establishment of telecenters. The intention of establishing these telecenters is to provide e-services, distance learning and for the creation of employment opportunities for freelancers as well as bridging the digital divide. Minister of State for IT and Telecom Ms. Anusha Rehman said that provision of 3G Mobile broadband services to far flung areas remained their priority focus. This project is an integral part of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s decision for providing facilitation to remote areas. She also added that initiatives like this will ensure development across the country and contribute to the socio-economic development of Pakistan.
