Jazz is known as one of the leading digital telecommunication companies in Pakistan. Recently, it has been reported that Jazz have contributed PKR 20 million in an effort to support the Prime Minister’s COVID-19 Relief Fund.

What made this donation all the more special as it was done by Jazz by matching every rupee that was donated by its customers to the cause as well. This program is known to be Jazz’s very own Matching Grants program. The Matching Grants program was launched by the company in May in which they aimed to double all contributions made by subscribers and employees to the Fund and accomplished this a month later.

Speaking on this matter, Aamir Ibrahim, Jazz CEO spoke on the announcement of the launch and said that: “We are grateful to our customers who have showcased their openhandedness towards the cause since the announcement of the Matching Grants initiative. Within the first three weeks, we have been able to collect PKR 10 million, which has been equally matched and deposited into the PM COVID-19 Relief Fund… At this point, every rupee counts, and both urgency and strategy are needed to outdo the economic and social devastation brought upon by the pandemic.”

As per the Matching Grants Program, if one is willing to donate to the program, they can send an SMS to 6677. They can also donate to their already available service such as JazzCash accounts, call and donate at *786#, and as well make their payment through the Covid-19 relief website at Jazz.com.pk/PMFund. Jazz have already made their announcement to pledge a total amount of PKR 1.2 billion support towards COVID-19 relief program for a wide range of communities or organizations that need it such as needy communities that need the help and health and welfare organizations that are working to help them. They have already donated PKR 50 million to the PM’s COVID-19 Relief Fund in April.
