In celebration of the International Women’s Day, IDG is back with its series featuring women from around the local ecosystem. Tête-à-Tech with E-Elle’s; here in conversation with one part of the force behind Sehat Kahani.
Thirty-seven percent of women in rural, and urban slum, communities, in Pakistan, are unable to reach a healthcare facility due to the distance. Dr. Sara Saeed Khurram is the Founder of Sehat Kahani, an organization that uses cost effective ICT solutions to create an all female health provider network, giving quality health care solutions to communities where access to health care is limited.

Dr. Sara encourages women to believe in themselves, and not follow the herd.
“Whether you are a stay at home mother, or a working mom, only you know what is best for your child and no one in the world should tell you otherwise! I believe that every woman should have the right to choose for what ‘they’ think is right for them, rather than following what society tells them to.”
SehatKahani has many laurels to their name. Rightly so. They have recently been awarded a grant by GSMA as well and have brought much pride to Pakistan and much hope to the eager beavers in the field of medicine. Here’s wishing them all the luck!
