Public transportation, unfortunately, is in a sad state of affairs in many cities in Pakistan. Women in public spaces are subjected to harassment, and cat-calling amongst other issues. Though ride hailing has become one of the key areas of work when it comes to local and international players entering the space in Pakistan, if there was one to pick, we would say it’s Careem Pakistan on its forward-looking approach towards women empowerment.

The ride-sharing app Careem has helped innumerable women travel safely through the streets of Pakistan. With the successful execution of its female captains, Careem is now all set to launch a program for Careem female bike captains as well and that is exactly the kind of movement we need in our society today; the no-restriction policy.
