Islamabad is set to host the first international artificial intelligence conference of 2026 as Pathfinder CITADEL Pakistan, in collaboration with OIC COMSTECH, brings together global and regional stakeholders for the International Conference on “AI & Future of Work: Digital Nations in the Next Decade.” Scheduled for Thursday, January 08, 2026, the conference will be held at the OIC COMSTECH Secretariat on Constitution Avenue, positioning the capital as a focal point for dialogue on emerging technologies and digital transformation.

The conference is designed as a high level platform for policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, entrepreneurs, and technology professionals to examine how artificial intelligence is reshaping economies, workforces, and governance models across the world. With AI increasingly influencing productivity, decision making, and service delivery, the event aims to facilitate informed discussions on how digital nations can adapt to these changes while ensuring inclusive and sustainable growth. Organised by Pathfinder CITADEL and OIC COMSTECH, the conference reflects a growing emphasis on regional collaboration and knowledge sharing around advanced technologies.

Participants will engage in in depth conversations on the evolving role of AI in the future of work, including its impact on skills development, employment structures, and digital competitiveness. The agenda is expected to explore how governments and private sector stakeholders can work together to harness AI for economic resilience, innovation, and workforce readiness. By bringing together diverse perspectives, the conference seeks to highlight practical insights into how countries can align policy, education, and industry strategies with the rapid pace of technological change.

The event also underscores Pakistan’s increasing engagement with global technology conversations and its efforts to position itself as an active contributor to discussions on digital transformation. Hosting the conference at OIC COMSTECH signals the importance of multilateral cooperation among OIC member states in advancing science, technology, and innovation. It further provides an opportunity for local startups, researchers, and professionals to connect with international experts, exchange ideas, and explore collaboration opportunities within the AI ecosystem.

Running from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM, the conference is open to participants from across the technology, business, academic, and public policy communities. Attendees can expect focused sessions that examine current AI trends, real world applications, and the strategic considerations involved in building digitally empowered societies. Networking is also a key component of the event, enabling participants to build connections with industry experts and decision makers working at the intersection of technology and development.
