Pakistan is making an ever-increasing influence in terms of contributions to technology, thanks to the ever-expanding developer environment. One such tech-savvy individual is Ahmad Awais, a developer whose open-source work made its way all the way to Mars. In a summary, his contribution was recognised by Microsoft for its involvement in the Mars Helicopter Mission 2020.

If you haven’t heard, Ahmad Awais is one of Pakistan’s first GitHub Stars and a Google Developer Expert who is continuously working on new technologies and empowering aspiring developers through his blogs and workshops. He has also been donating code and documentation for over ten years.

If you haven’t heard, Ahmad Awais is a Google Developer Expert and one of Pakistan’s first GitHub Stars. He is always working on new technologies and empowering aspiring developers through his blogs and classes. He’s also a ten-year code and documentation contributor.

Upon being highlighted by Microsoft, Ahmad stated the following:
“As a kid, I dreamed of being an astronaut, exploring space and such. But I was frightened of heights, so whenever my mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I told her I wanted to be a scientist who invented things like rockets.

Years passed, and I began to understand how far away I was from being a rocket scientist, as I read about space exploration missions and aspired to meet Elon Musk (the one who rebelled? Right?)

It only goes to show that, with the advancement of technology and knowledge, anyone, regardless of degree, background, or current subject of study, can become a developer, contribute, and pave their way towards a sustainable software career.
