IEEE 5G and Internet of Things Summit on Future Trends 2018 at UET

Sultan Qaboos IT Chair from UET Lahore has announced the “IEEE 5G and IoT Summit on Future Trends 2018”. 

The technology industry in Pakistan has seen a massive spike in growth and development over the past couple of months. The arrival of 5G has seen the mobile network industry reach heights that it has never seen before, and users started using internet with speeds matched by none before. Innovations such as these have led people to think about the future of the network industry for the next couple of years. This has also led researchers dwell into the prospects of communication technology even more now.

The IEE 5G and IoT Summit on Future Trends 2018 (5GIoT-2018) is an event that aims to create awareness among Pakistani students and professionals about the evolving nature of communication technology. The 5GIoT-2018 is taking place on the 23rd February 2018 at the KICS, University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore, Pakistan. The event is sponsored by IEEE ComSoc Lahore Section, and financially sponsored by AI-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS). The event is supported by Lahore University of Management Sciences and IEEE UET.

Backed by the Sultan Qaboos IT Chair, which is an initiative by the Sultanate of Oman to support high academic research in Pakistan, this provides individuals to have a platform to encourage research in the country and to have more symposiums and discourses on this topic.

The second ever iteration of the summit, this will invite a diversified audience which includes doctorate students as well and professionals already established in the field. The discourses will range from the need to have interdisciplinary and multidimensional research within academia and industry, to explanation of their work and research in the development in the areas of 5G and IoT.
