The Institute of Business Administration’s School of Economics and Social Sciences, in collaboration with the IBA Population Research Center, has announced a workshop titled Agentic AI for Applied Data Analysis Using Claude Code CLI, designed to teach participants how to turn complex research questions into publication ready analysis in a matter of hours rather than months. The workshop is scheduled to take place over two days, on Saturday and Sunday, September 12 and 13, 2026, running from 9 in the morning until 1 in the afternoon at the City Campus of IBA Karachi.

The curriculum is structured around five core learning areas, beginning with more advanced sub agentic based analysis that gives participants direct control over context management during data workflows. Participants will also learn web fetching techniques for data mining and extraction, methods for handling large volumes of unstructured data and converting it into analysis ready files, and approaches to skill building and pattern learning aimed at performing repetitive analytical tasks more efficiently. The workshop additionally covers AI chat context management, a skill increasingly relevant as professionals rely more heavily on AI assisted workflows for research and reporting.

The session will be led by Masood Siddiqui, who holds a PhD in Economics from IBA and is MIT MicroMasters certified in Statistics and Data Sciences, with a background spanning data analysis, policy research and macroeconometric modelling for policy simulation and forecasting. Organizers have noted that participants are encouraged to bring their own Claude Code subscription for the best hands on experience, though all steps will be demonstrated live by the instructor regardless, and a comprehensive practical guide will be provided to help participants continue using Claude Code independently once the workshop concludes.

Registration for the workshop is open now, with a standard fee of 5,000 rupees and a discounted rate of 2,500 rupees available for students. The initiative reflects a broader push among Pakistani business schools and research institutions to move beyond theoretical coverage of artificial intelligence toward direct, applied training in AI powered coding and analysis tools, giving students and professionals practical exposure to agentic AI systems that are increasingly being adopted across research, business intelligence and corporate analytics functions both in Pakistan and globally.
