The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Pakistan and the Higher Education Commission Pakistan have jointly launched a National Short Video Contest for Pakistani university students, marking the celebration of 75 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations. The contest, themed “China-Pakistan Friendship: Passed on from Generation to Generation,” invites current undergraduate and master’s students enrolled at Pakistani universities to participate by submitting short videos of a maximum of three minutes in length, with the submission deadline set for June 30, 2026.

The contest offers three distinct topic areas for participants to explore. Students may create their videos around the theme of 75 Years of China-Pakistan Friendship, reflecting on the enduring bilateral relationship between the two countries. Alternatively, participants may choose to tell stories through the lens of “Chinese Stories Around Me,” capturing personal or community-level experiences that highlight cultural or human connections with China. A third option invites students to explore the theme of “China-Pakistan Youth Striving Together for a Shared Future,” focusing on the aspirations and collaborative spirit of young people from both nations as they look toward shared goals in education, innovation, and development.

The initiative is designed to encourage creative storytelling among Pakistan’s university community while deepening cultural understanding and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China at a generational level. By giving young Pakistanis a platform to express their perspectives on the bilateral relationship through the medium of short video, the contest taps into a format that resonates strongly with today’s student population, making diplomacy and shared history accessible and personally meaningful. Winners will be awarded certificates and cash prizes distributed among the first, second, and third place recipients.

Students interested in participating are advised to contact their institution’s Student Affairs Office or Directorate for registration and submission procedures, as entries are to be routed through university channels. With the deadline falling on June 30, 2026, eligible undergraduate and master’s students across Pakistan have an opportunity to contribute their voices to the commemoration of one of the country’s most significant and longstanding diplomatic partnerships.
