Google, Sindh HEC, and Information Science & Technology Department Partner To Enable A Quarter Million Students with Free Digital Scholarships

Google, the Sindh Higher Education Commission (SHEC), the Information Science and Technology Department (ISTD) of the Government of Sindh, and vice chancellors of 10 public universities of Sindh have signed a Letter of Understanding (LoU) to provide 250,000 free scholarships to students in Sindh.

The signing ceremony was attended by:

– Paul Hutchings, Regional Head of Google for Education, Greater Asia
– Dr. Rana Shahzad Kamal, Director General, Information Science and Technology Department, Government of Sindh
– Vice Chancellors of 10 public universities of Sindh
– Other dignitaries

This groundbreaking partnership aims to equip universities with vital digital tools to meet the demands of today’s workforce. By introducing Google Workspace for Education, students, faculty, and staff will access powerful tools such as Gmail, Drive, Docs, and more, fostering enhanced collaboration and productivity.

The Sindh Higher Education Commission is dedicated to shaping the future of Pakistan by emphasizing the significance of higher education. This partnership with Google is a significant step towards achieving that goal. By providing free scholarships and digital tools, SHEC is empowering students and educators to succeed in the 21st century.
