Google May Launch Pixel Tag Bluetooth Tracker Soon

Google appears close to finally launching its own Bluetooth tracker, with an Amazon listing recently mentioning a device called the Google Pixel Tag as a compatible accessory for the upcoming Pixel 11 series. The mention surfaced alongside earlier leaks detailing the Pixel 11 lineup, raising the possibility that Google could introduce the tracker at its Made by Google event scheduled for August 12.

No such device currently exists on the market, and the listing did not reveal any further details about the Pixel Tag’s design, features or pricing. However, rumors of a Google made tracker have circulated for several years, and the appearance of the product name in an official retail listing so close to a major hardware launch suggests the company may finally be moving forward with the category. If launched, the device would give Google a direct answer to Apple’s AirTag 2, as well as existing trackers from companies such as Motorola, Samsung and Tile.

A dedicated tracker would complement Google’s existing Find Hub platform, which already allows users to track friends, family members and connected devices through a shared location network. Adding a physical tracking accessory would extend that same functionality to everyday items such as keys, bags and wallets, giving Android users a first party option that currently does not exist within Google’s hardware lineup. Such a device could also serve as an incentive for users considering a switch to the Android ecosystem, particularly those already invested in tracking accessories from competing platforms.

Google has not officially teased the Pixel Tag as part of its upcoming launch event, and the relative lack of leaks surrounding the device stands out compared to the more extensive leak coverage the Pixel 11 series and Pixel Watch 5 have already received ahead of the same event. Whether the tracker ultimately appears at the August 12 event remains uncertain, but its appearance in a regulatory adjacent retail listing this close to the launch date has fueled speculation that Google may be preparing to introduce the accessory alongside its next generation Pixel hardware.
