Geely Auto Enters Pakistan With Galaxy EX5 and EX2 Electric Vehicles

Chinese automaker Geely Auto has officially entered Pakistan’s automotive market through an exclusive importer and distributor agreement with the Bestway Group, with the company planning to launch two battery electric vehicles under its Geely Galaxy brand in the third quarter of 2026.

The two models heading to Pakistan are the Galaxy EX5, a compact electric sport utility vehicle targeting families and buyers already interested in the SUV segment, and the Galaxy EX2, a compact electric hatchback aimed at urban commuters and first-time electric vehicle buyers. Both models will be introduced initially as completely built-up units, meaning they will be imported as finished vehicles rather than assembled locally, a standard entry approach for new automotive brands entering Pakistan before establishing a more permanent manufacturing or assembly footprint. Under the partnership agreement, Bestway Group will be responsible for vehicle homologation, the development of a dealership network, sales, after-sales services, and customer support across Pakistan.

The Bestway Group brings existing automotive infrastructure to the partnership through its acquisition of Al-Haj Automotive, giving Geely a ready-made operational foundation rather than requiring the brand to build its dealer and service network from scratch. This structural advantage matters considerably in Pakistan’s automotive market, where after-sales service availability and spare parts accessibility are among the most important factors influencing purchase decisions, particularly for electric vehicles where consumer concerns about maintenance and battery support have historically created hesitation despite growing interest in the technology.

The entry of Geely, one of the world’s largest automobile manufacturers with a growing portfolio of electric models sold across dozens of markets, adds meaningful competition to Pakistan’s evolving electric vehicle landscape, which has seen a series of Chinese brands establish a presence in recent years. The Galaxy EX5 and EX2 will compete in segments where several other new entrants are also active, meaning Geely’s long-term success in Pakistan will depend on the combination of competitive pricing, reliable after-sales infrastructure, and the strength of the Galaxy brand’s positioning against alternatives already available to buyers in both the electric SUV and urban hatchback categories.
