FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited has deployed a 450 kW Solar Photovoltaic system integrated with a 255 kWh Battery Energy Storage System at its Nara Dairy Farm facility, positioning the project as a step toward a more sustainable industrial setup. The project was awarded to DSG Energy, with the installation intended to strengthen the facility’s energy resilience and improve operational efficiency.

Kashan Hasan, CEO and Managing Director of FCEPL, said the installation reflects the company’s energy conscious approach, adding that the company aims to expand its solar footprint further across both its production facilities and its dairy farm operations. He said the move toward clean energy aligns with the company’s broader goal of supporting its operations from farm to final product while continuing to serve its customer base with its food products.

By combining on-site solar generation with battery storage, the project is designed to optimize renewable energy consumption, reduce reliance on conventional fuel based power generation, lower energy costs, and provide a more reliable power supply for farm operations. Daniyal Siddiqui, CEO of DSG Energy, said the shift toward clean energy involves building energy systems that deliver reliability and long term value rather than simply generating renewable power, describing the Nara Dairy Farm project as a meaningful step in that direction for the company’s partnership with FCEPL.

The project reflects a broader shift within Pakistan’s industrial and agricultural sectors, where businesses are increasingly looking beyond standalone solar installations toward integrated systems that combine generation, storage and energy management. For FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan, the Nara Dairy Farm project adds to the company’s wider effort to incorporate renewable energy across its operations as part of its broader sustainability objectives and its stated commitment to supporting Pakistan’s clean energy transition.
